Rethinking Organic Waste Super Session

No more smelly compost or rats! No more dead worms, and what is bokashi? Come along and get all the hints and tips. No need to use a bin for any organic waste - keep it at home for free garden fertiliser or find ways to share it with others. Learn about composting, “Wonderful World of Worms”, and Bokashi Buckets and find out the best way to deal with scraps with waste educator Peg Davies in this organic waste super session demonstration.

As part of International Compost Awareness Week (May 4-10, 2025), this workshop will help you kickstart or fine tune your composting journey with practical solutions for every household!

Adult workshop space - Guests are expected to follow instructions of the program facilitator, be respectful at all times and assume responsibility for their own safety.

Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near EcoHub and services multiple routes.

EcoHub is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes Reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.

Bring the following items in household quantities for recycling at EcoHub: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, plastic bread tags, oral care products, plastic bottle lids, metal bottle lids, beer can clips and corks.
